Me
Hi there! Welcome and thank you for taking the time to check out my website.
My name is Brooke Power. I have a background in Child and Youth Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University and I am a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator based in Halifax, NS. My amazing husband got me a digital camera for a Christmas gift a few years ago, and I have been learning more each day. My current camera is a Canon Rebel T7 and I have enjoyed every minute of figuring it out. I have loved taking pictures my whole life and I hope to transform my passion into a photography career. I grew up on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, as well as my middle school years in Northern Alberta and I feel so lucky to have lived in such beautiful provinces. To me, photographs are tangible memories, a way to freeze time, capture emotions and relive them all over again. I want the photos I take to breathe life. Candid, messy, imperfect and wonderful. Not every photo shoot will go to plan, but that is okay because there is so much beauty in the unexpected.
My husband Cameron and I are currently expecting and will have our very own bundle of joy coming February 2026! We also have two very different cats, Emma (5) and Beans (4). Both rescues from local NS Shelters. While Beans is very outgoing, curious and cuddly, Emma is sugar and spice prefers her space as well as some peace and quiet which will soon be in short supply. I have a love of the outdoors and finding new trails that would make for good shoot locations. There's something peaceful and etherial about spending time in nature and the emotional reset it provides. My favourite season is Autumn and the cozy blankets, unlimited soup recipes and experimental baking the colder weather brings. I love trying local coffee shops and will often be found with a good coffee in hand.

If you would like to join me on this creative journey, I would love to meet you and discover your interests, and find what makes your heart sing!

Emma
